CLINIC TOPIC: ‘I Never Actually Thought About It’; Naming What Shapes Your Enterprise
Associate Professor Poh Yen Ng is the Director of the Aberdeen Centre for Entrepreneurship Research and an Associate Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University (RGU). She is also the co-Chair of the Entrepreneurship of Minority Groups in the Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE).
Her research interests cover many areas within entrepreneurship, including the empowerment process and social network dynamics of women entrepreneurs. Her work has been published in the Journal of Business Research, International Small Business Journal, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research, and many more. She serves as an Associate Editor for Gender, Work and Organization and the International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship.
She is a recipient of British Council’s Gender Equality Partnership 2024-2025. British Academy of Management also funded her research examining the wellbeing of ethnic minority entrepreneurs in the United Kingdom. Last June, she and her team at RGU implemented a project called Women Entrepreneurs Accelerate Africa, benefiting more than 400 African women entrepreneurs.
